I started my career working in the communications dept of an International Bluechip manufacturing company many years ago.
Over the course of my career I developed a diverse range of skills sets working in manufacturing, customer service, public sector, education and outsourcing in various office management roles
In my role within the RealHealth Institute I will primarily be responsible for setting up the newly opened office in Newcastle Upon Tyne , ensuring the smooth running of the operation, including recruitment, client liaison , and will be the first point of contact for referrals.
I am looking forward to working with the rest of the team and further developing an already successful organisation.
I graduated as a physiotherapist in 1998 from the University of Northumbria in Newcastle, and have worked in both the NHS and private sectors in a variety of clinical areas as a senior physiotherapist.
During the period 2004-2008 I was part of a multidisciplinary team based in Newcastle working with patients in the community. I have worked in the field of occupational health since 2006, building on my long term interest in cognitive behavioural principles within my practice. I have also worked for local government, implementing work place ergonomic assessment for patients with chronic musculoskeletal pain.
Prior to joining The RealHealth Institute I managed a clinical practice in Durham within which I ran Functional Restoration Programmes for patients suffering with chronic pain.
I strongly believe that individuals with chronic pain should have the opportunity of leading as functionally active a life as possible, and I am fully committed to support patients in achieving this goal.
